Hydrographics process

The simplest method is to moisten your fingers and gently pinch a corner of the film. The side that sticks to your damp fingers is the water-soluble side — place that side on the surface of the water.

The recommended water temperature is approximately 28–34°C. At lower temperatures, the film usually needs a longer soaking time before activation. Maintaining a consistent temperature helps achieve repeatable results.

The cost of the service depends on the size and shape of the object, surface preparation, the selected pattern and the extent of the paintwork. Hydrographics can produce detailed decorative effects, including on parts with complex shapes.

A correctly applied transfer is protected with a clear coat, as in automotive refinishing. This protective coating largely determines the durability of the decoration and its resistance to everyday use and outdoor conditions.

Yes. In most cases, the surface can be prepared again, the defective layer removed and the process repeated. The work required depends on the condition of the part and the coatings previously applied.

Hydrographics can be applied to many materials, such as plastics, metal, wood, glass and ceramics. The surface must be prepared appropriately, be suitable for painting and allow the part to be safely immersed in water.

Scratch resistance depends primarily on the clear coat used and the quality of its application. A properly protected decoration can achieve resistance comparable to other surfaces finished with a similar coating system.

Rinsing usually takes about 5 minutes, until the slippery residues of the PVA carrier film have been removed from the surface. The recommended rinsing water temperature is approximately 28–35°C. Adjust the time to the condition and size of the decorated part.

Store the film in a dry place under stable conditions, ideally at approximately 20°C and below 60% relative humidity. Protect it from excessive moisture and temperature fluctuations.

Equipment

To determine the transport cost, we need the selected ALANDA model and the destination country. Delivery costs depend on the size of the equipment and the destination country. The price of the equipment itself remains fixed.

You can find the current availability status on each model’s product page. Equipment marked “In stock” is held in stock but may require adaptation to the selected heating power and electrical supply before dispatch. For equipment marked “On order”, the fulfilment time is agreed individually. We confirm the expected fulfilment time before payment.

COMBO set is a solution developed by Design Plus Hydrographics that combines a hydrographics tank and a washer in a single unit. It uses shared water circulation, allowing the transfer and subsequent rinsing of the part without a separate washing unit. The COMBO set system is standard equipment on every ALANDA Engineering model.

The standard ALANDA models have the same functional design and equipment. They differ only in the dimensions of the working area. This allows you to choose equipment suited to the size of the objects being decorated without giving up functionality available in other models.

In addition to the standard equipment shared across the ALANDA range, the DeluX model has a thermally insulated lid and an additional fixed filter that cleans the water in the working section.

No. Each ALANDA model has a fixed price, regardless of the selected heating configuration or the type of power supply. These parameters can be matched to the user’s needs without changing the price of that model. Only transport is quoted separately.

The most important factors are the dimensions, shape and type of objects you plan to decorate. The working area should allow the part to be positioned and immersed appropriately. Design Plus Hydrographics will help you choose an ALANDA model for your intended applications.
